The Lord’s Amazing Power

Text: Luke 8:46   IBCSWS    April 10, 2005

Preacher: Pastor Jose B. Cabajar

We firmly believe that since the beginning of all things, the power of God has always been manifested in a tremendous way. The Bible offers us a reliable account of God’s miraculous power witnessed by both believers and unbelievers of every generation.

The Bible tells us that God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresence. His power is unlimited, His knowledge is infinite and His presence is beyond human comprehension.

As we study Luke 8:22-56, we could see some striking verses that could illumine our understanding so we may come to realize that Jesus is undoubtedly the Son of God. In verses 26-27, even the devils confessed that Jesus is the Son of God.

The deity of Christ is also confirmed by what Jesus said to the healed Gaderene demoniac. In the first part of verse 39, Jesus said, “Return to thine house, and show how great things God hath done unto thee.” In the second part of the same verse, it is written, And he went his way, and published through out the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him. (KJV)

Below are needful things we must know so we may not doubt the power of the Lord, but be strengthened and comforted especially during critical moments.

(I)                    His Astounding Power Over Nature

Luke 8:22-25

-Over a storm of wind

-Over raging water

(II)                  His Remarkable Power Over Demons

Luke 8:26-33

-Over a great number of demons

(III)                 His Inimitable Power To Save Mankind

Luke 8:34-40

Jesus: The only Savior

(IV)                 His Undeniable Power Over Diseases

Luke 8:43-48

-The Greatest Physician of all

(V)                   His Unbelievable Power Over Death

Luke 41-56

-Jesus is the resurrection and the life

Whatever situation we may have in life today, remember what Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (KJV)

May every Christian continue singing the song “What a friend we have in Jesus”. What a blessing to be in Christ today and for eternity.
